UNLOCK

Conference on "UNLOCK"
10.09.2010, hours. 19.00
Warsaw, Chłodna25

Authentic street art and expressions of local, grassroots thriving cultural life is still not enough. We are counting on the fact that the more successfully decentralize city, the noise will be more. Just as the Internet. We are dreaming of a city 2.0. The term Web 2.0 is commonly referred to web sites that are open to the user. even waiting for him, creating pretexts to participate. The city now is becoming more oppressive space, reducing our behavior to the transport and consumption. The city's 2.0 is a space that is actively co-creates the content. artists / users selecting a public space into their operations are becoming the active user, which is not enough passive role. These interventions are calculated to create a situation of infinite city permanently.

The urban space is going to be very much, but these actions are often superficial. Few are those who - as the recent "Mr. Rubber" Althamer, and recently our activities on the Brest - looked into more deeply into the social stratum, were based on genuine dialogue and described the need to change the world. Street art is of great potential, but also, of course great ease of slipping into banality and replace the trinket in the city at best, a tool of the conservative political propaganda at worst.

Conference "UNLOCK" want to start a serious discussion at the crossroads of people - activists / artists - local authorities about the shape and shaping of the city at the level of awareness of vision and sense of public space.
